In Carnivale ogni squerzo vale !

Carnival has just begun in Venice, so today we are going to talk about the most relevant traditions of this festivity. One of them is known as " The flight of the angel " and it means the opening of Venetian Carnival (see the video below). On the other and, it is an element which is essential in Venetian Carnival. We are talking about the Bauta. The Bauta is the typical Venetian mask and, in the past, it was worn by Venetian during all the year. It was originally white or black and it covers almost the entire face. It was very popular because it allowed the wearer to eat and drink without having to removing it.
